Big Bernese Photography Offers Complimentary Photo Shoot at Spring Fun Day in Westford, MA
Last weekend, I had a wonderful opportunity to be surrounded by Bernese Mountain Dogs! I was invited by the BMD Club of Nashoba Valley to be an event photographer at their Spring Fun Day on June 10th in Westford, MA. A big Thank You to the club for inviting me.
It was a wonderful day filled with families, meeting old friends and making new friends, lots of big beautiful Bernese mountain dogs and many great events including raffles, auctions, meetings, rally events, paws and ears clipping, vendors, tag sale and more!
A couple of weeks before the event, I began to think about what kind of backdrop I would use for Fun Day. I wanted a theme that was consistent with Spring and Fun! As a gardener, my first thought was flowers. After making several planters filled with beautiful flowers, I decided that the pots were too heavy for me to carry and move around! Back to square one. Suddenly, my Bernese Haley and Chloe approached me with their stuffed Berner beanie babies. It was most definitely a sign! I decided to gather the nearly 20 stuffed Bernese Mountain dogs that I had and began experimenting with a back drop. I thought it would be lots of fun to do a shoot that featured “Find The Real Bernese Mountain Dog”.
As a side note, you may be asking – Why would she have so many stuffed Bernese Mountain Dogs? Great question! As a member of the Greenfield Kiwanis Club, I am involved with a reading program for preschool children. Two times per year, we purchase nearly 400 books and read to children in 20 different preschool classrooms throughout Franklin County in Mass. My 6 year old, Haley has been a Therapy Dog for several years and she travels with me to the public preschool events. The children are so happy and “ants-in-your-pants” excited when they see Haley and then see all of the “puppies” that she has brought along for them to hold! Haley and the puppies help to make reading fun and exciting and definitely boosts their interest in reading and books.
The Fun Day stuffed Bernese photo theme turned out to be a big hit and the dogs seemed to have lots of fun and knew exactly how they needed to fit in and hide among the stuffed animals. I had several dogs that were so excited they simply could not resist taking a stuffed toy – usually from the bottom of the Bernese pile – and down would come the mountain of dogs! It was fun and silly and everyone seemed to have a great time.
I have included a couple of images here from the Fun Day and you can see more by visiting my website at www.BigBernesePhotography.com
I am kicking off the summer with special savings and photo collections and will be shooting on Cape Cod from June 17th through June 24. June is a wonderful time to take advantage of all of the great things that Cape Cod has to offer – including great beach shots and silhouettes. If you are in the area, please give me call.
Can You Find the Real Berner? 🙂
